Remembering Sindutai on World day of War Orphan

  On Jan 6, every year World day of War Orphans is recognised. Sindhutai Sapkal, renowned social worker and Padma Shri awardee popularly known as the mother of orphans is no more with us on this day. She die on 4th January 2022 due to heart attack at the age of 73. She is the mother of thousands orphans. She devoted her entire life for these children. At her early age of 12, she was married to the person who was 20 years older to her. Her marriage did not subsists and her mother also rejected her. She was forced to lived on the streets and begged. Therefore she decided to adopt orphan children who do not have parents and decided to provide shelter to them. She had adopted more than 1000 children and provide them food, education and shelter.
